A Cleaner Workflow. A Built-In Benchmark. A New Specialty View.
PRIZM Version 5.4 reorganizes the Networks dashboard into three focused tabs for data input, utilization, and customization, and introduces network benchmarking against BUCA reference values so clients can measure a rate against a defined baseline rather than reviewing it in isolation. The release also adds a new Physician Specialty Report, giving clients a specialty-level view of professional provider contracts that complements PRIZM's existing hospital contract analysis. Hospital price transparency coverage within PRIZM Rates has expanded to over 4,400 hospitals across all 50 states and territories, and is available to all PRIZM Rates & Networks customers at no additional cost.
Networks Redesign
Comparing in-network rates has always meant working across scattered filters and settings. Networks reports are now organized into three focused tabs: Inputs, Utilization, and Settings (Customization).
The Inputs tab centralizes data entry and core operations, including Upload Claims, Upload Census, Load, Save, Reset, and Run Analysis
A unified search lets users query carriers, networks, reporters, and products from a single panel and up to four concurrent network selections
The Utilization tab configures utilization weights and demographic parameters, with a default view aggregated to Inpatient, Outpatient, and Professional, and a granular view that expands to the full set of major payment methodologies
The Settings tab centralizes advanced analytical controls, including Medicare outlier thresholds, travel distance assumptions, imputed allowed amounts, hospital marketshare weights, and data consolidation rules
What this means for Deerhold clients:
One consistent workflow for building and refining a network comparison, instead of settings spread across multiple screens
Faster setup through unified search and reusable saved configurations
Network Benchmarking
A network rate on its own answers one question. A rate measured against a benchmark answers a more useful one.
Compare network pricing side by side against a defined benchmark value
The initial set of available benchmarks includes BUCA, BUCA PPO, BUCA EPO, BUCA POS, UCA, BCBS, and BCBS excluding Blue Card
A dedicated Network Benchmark Settings section lets users select benchmark criteria, apply geographic filters, and assign metric values to build custom baselines
Benchmark selection is managed from the Settings tab
What this means for Deerhold clients:
Network pricing with built-in context, not just a standalone figure
Custom baselines tailored to a specific geography or market segment
New Physician Specialty Report
Hospital contracts get plenty of scrutiny. Professional provider contracts have mostly been a blind spot.
Compare professional provider contracts by payer, side by side, as a percentage of Medicare or discount
Results are broken down by specialty, complementing the existing Hospital Comparison report
Specialties are mapped based on procedure code categories, with billing code weights driving assumed utilization
What this means for Deerhold clients:
A specialty-level view of professional contracts that didn't exist in PRIZM before
A natural companion to Hospital Comparison for a fuller picture of a market's contracting landscape
TIN-Based Enhancements: Tier Comparison & Network Adequacy
Two reports now work the way users actually think about provider groups: by TIN, not just by defined network.
Tier Comparison supports uploading TIN values per tier, with filtering by CSV upload and manually entered weights for each tier
Network Adequacy can now evaluate a custom network built from an uploaded or pasted list of TINs, instead of requiring a predefined network
The Network Adequacy report filters its results by the selected TIN values
What this means for Deerhold clients:
Tier and adequacy analysis that matches a client's entire provider groupings
Less manual setup when the provider list already exists as a TIN file
Additional Enhancements
Product documentation can now be downloaded as PDFs
A Copy button has been added to the Metrics report
Region is now available as a geo filter in the Top Facilities report
Hospital names have been made consistent throughout the application
New Data Enhancements
Increased Hospital Data Coverage
All published and compliant hospital price transparency data is now available within Hospital Rates, covering over 4,400 hospitals across all 50 states and territories, with data current as of August 2026.
What this means for Deerhold clients:
National hospital coverage in a single data set, with Medicare rates, additional plan classes, and quarterly updates planned for upcoming releases
Carrier-Specific Updates
SelectHealth: A new network, SelectHealth Standard, has been added, and product types have been updated for SelectHealth Med and SelectHealth Value
Horizon BCBS NJ: Several legacy networks have been consolidated into a single new network, Horizon BCBS NJ Direct Access
Regence: Three Washington networks have been merged into a new network, Regence BS WA AHN
Why This Release Matters
